Looking out for the interests of passengers and drivers in the UK. It wanted to open its survey data to the public, which meant it needed a truly accessible data hub. So that\u2019s exactly what we delivered.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-3-font-size\">The challenge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-4-font-size\">Data was getting stuck at junctions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There was plenty to change. Data&nbsp;came&nbsp;in&nbsp;from different research agencies. It&nbsp;was held in a variety of&nbsp;formats. And it was scattered across&nbsp;a handful of platforms.&nbsp;&nbsp; And these platforms hadn\u2019t been designed for the public, either.&nbsp;Security was too high.&nbsp;Visual interest&nbsp;was&nbsp;too low.&nbsp;There wasn\u2019t a&nbsp;chart or infographic&nbsp;in sight.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pg-theme-component md-fluid-bottom-margin component-33 is-layout-flow wp-block-pg-theme-component-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-ba55ae12 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\" style=\"padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--xs)\">\n<p class=\"has-h-3-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-d64aa0c9 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-h-3-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We\u2019re able to be so open. A single hub for all its survey data. Serving both internal and external stakeholders.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That wide-ranging group includes journalists, who\u2019ve made great use of our data visualization tools. And politicians, who have remarked on how user friendly it is for a public-facing system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-3-font-size\">The results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-4-font-size\">Today,&nbsp;Transport Focus&nbsp;takes&nbsp;smooth and easy&nbsp;journeys<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Transport Focus may have started this project for the public good, but its own teams have benefited from the change.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its insight team can get more done. (And not only because their colleagues find answers themselves, and get automatic alerts when new data arrives.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For one project, the insights team made 100 PowerPoint decks for different stakeholders. Each with 80 slides.
